Local film producer covers ‘cavorting cattle’ at The Hive

09/07/2012

A Worcestershire film and video producer has been commissioned to make two launch films for the county’s newly-opened library and history centre, The Hive.

Splash TV’s final productions, which feature two of The Hive’s earliest events, will be displayed on the showcase building’s video screens during the coming months.

In the first week after its Monday 2 July opening, the joint public and university library in Worcester hosted a celebrity Reading Relay event where groups of Worcestershire school children were invited to enjoy selected readings of popular books.

Amongst the readers were Central News presenter Sameena Ali-Khan and the Mayoress of Worcester, Jill Berry.

The next event was the staging of a promenade play by the Vamos Theatre Company based on oral history from people who lived or worked near The Hive site.

A variety of masked characters led visitors through the new building to learn about the cattle market and memories of war-time life in Worcester and to enjoy spectacular song and dance from performing pigs and cavorting cattle.

Splash TV is based in Suckley and specialises in promotional, training and instructional films for business and public sector clients.

The Finditinworcestershire member has delivered successful projects for organisations including DaimlerChrysler, Department of Trade, Imperial College (London), Malvern Instruments, Messier-Dowty, The National Trust, Royal Brompton Hospital and major departments within Herefordshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire councils, as well as many small businesses, community institutions and charities in the Midlands.
