In October, Worcestershire County Council will be issuing invitations to tender for an Infrastructure Engineering Term Contract, for the infrastructure improvement programme in Worcestershire.

In Detail

In October, Worcestershire County Council will be issuing invitations to tender for an Infrastructure Engineering Term Contract, for the infrastructure improvement programme in Worcestershire.

This programme will consist of transportation, highway improvements and structures projects.

The contractor may be required to design and construct or solely construct.

Examples of works include (list not exhaustive):

  • Junction improvements
  • Railway station enhancements
  • Cycle ways
  • Corridor improvements
  • Public realm enhancements
  • Retaining wall construction & maintenance
  • Bridge deck refurbishment
  • Masonry repairs

The contract value will range from £25k to £5m and the duration is four years, with the potential to extend for up to a further three. The contract consists of the delivery of smaller schemes (up to £250k) and the adoption of a local SME will form part of the Social Value evaluation of the contract. Contractually, the SME will work as a sub-contractor to the main contractor. 

Main contractors and SME's can attend an event on Friday 29 September to meet and facilitate development of partnerships  to tender for the forthcoming 'Infrastructure Engineering Term Contract'.
