The FinditinWorcestershire event on Tuesday 20th June was a huge success, with 100 businesses attending to find out how they could be involved with the Worcestershire Parkway Regional Interchange project.
After introductions from Lorna Jeynes, Business Growth Manager at Worcestershire County Council, Martin Bruton from Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) outlined details about funding support available to local businesses to support skills and training in the industry.
The principal contractor, Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, then gave a presentation about the exciting scheme for Worcestershire Parkway, which begins construction this autumn and is set for completion winter 2018.
After the presentations were finished, delegates visited stands in the exhibition zone and over 30 one-to-one Meet the Buyer sessions took place with Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd, who were on hand to discuss specific supply chain opportunities available to Worcestershire companies and how they could get involved in the project.
Lorna Jeynes commented: “Worcestershire Parkway is an exciting project for the county and this event will help connect local businesses with tender opportunities. We would like to thank Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd for taking time to discuss the project with our members.”
