A trio of recruitment specialists are set to scale the heights of the UK’s tallest mountains by taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise much needed cash for a Worcester charity.

In Detail

James Cronin, Group Commercial Director at Jarell Group, Charlotte Harkin, the Group’s HR and Compliance Director, and Mike Pincott, a director of GMP Recruitment, will climb the UK's three highest mountains consecutively this September.

The trio are aiming to raise £3,000 for Worcester charity New Hope, which provides specialist daycare for children with disabilities and complex healthcare needs - alongside much-needed respite for their parents and carers.

The gruelling challenge will see all three tackling Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike and Snowdon – covering a total of 23 walking miles and climbing over 3,000 metres in 24 hours which will also see them driving a total distance of 462 miles between the Scottish, English and Welsh mountains.

The charity is especially close to Mike's heart as he recently found out his 18-month-year-old daughter Ava has been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome – a genetic disorder which causes delayed development, problems with speech, balance and seizures.

Mike said: "Although Ava is too young to benefit from the amazing work New Hope does, we are doing the challenge in her name. She is such a special addition to our family and we want to help children like her and give families hope when they need it the most."

"All three of us have been training hard for the past six months since agreeing to take part, going to the gym, running, playing tennis and swimming.

"James, Charlotte and I can often be seen walking up the Malvern Hills as part of our training. We are determined to finish with a creditable finishing time and as we are doing it for a great cause, we are all going through the pain barrier and motivating and supporting each other.”

Founder of New Hope, Jean Wilson MBE, added: "We rely on contributions as we are not funded by the Government so everyone at the charity is grateful to James, Mike and Charlotte for taking on such a big challenge on behalf of New Hope."
