The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will be the largest-ever cultural and sporting event ever hosted in the region. After the huge successes of Manchester 2002 and London 2012, now it’s Birmingham and the West Midlands moment in the global sporting spotlight.
At a special breakfast event – which will take place on Thursday 19 September at Sixways Stadium and hosted by FinditinWorcestershire - attendees will hear from Organising Committee CEO Ian Reid, and Neil Carney, Birmingham City Council's Project Director overseeing the Games.
The local and regional business community will play an essential role in the success of the Games.
The Organising Committee and its Games Partners will contract thousands of companies and suppliers to help deliver the Games and the associated infrastructure and capital projects, so the event will provide a broad overview of the business opportunities available, where they will be advertised, and offers advice on how businesses can prepare and get involved.
It will be open to all sectors and sizes of business and provide introductory information about the Organising Committee’s contracting and procurement approach.
Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is supporting the event, which will also be widely promoted and supported by local business community, local authorities and local enterprise partnerships.
